Code of Conduct
DYFCA has a zero-tolerate policy for verbal or physical abuse directed at volunteer coaches, referees, or players from any parent, player, or spectator. Everyone -including parents, players and coaches, and spectators - is expected to adhere to the code of conduct at all GFL and DYFCA events.
As a parent, I commit to:
- Abiding by the rules of DYFCA, including the Code of Conduct and the Regulations and Obligations outlined in the Registration information.
- Adhering to the rules of the Gwinnett Football League “GFL”, the governing body of all Gwinnett County Youth Football Associations, including their Code of Conduct.
- Paying all fees owed to Duluth Youth Football & Cheer Association.
- Ensuring that my child understands the park rules.
- Ensure that my child is punctual for practice, games and all scheduled events.
- Supporting the coaches, players, and cheerleaders, while teaching the value of commitment, sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and fair play.
- Supporting my child's team and helping ensure that athletic contests are a positive educational experience for my child and DYFCA.
- Offering constructive criticism about my child's team to the head coach and/or association officials at an appropriate time, aiming for a positive outcome for everyone involved.
- Accepting the decisions of the game officials (including coaches) as fair and made to the best of their ability. The officials’ decisions are final.
- Always displaying exemplary sportsmanship.
- Encouraging that good athletes are also good students who are physically and mentally alert.
- Ensuring that every football/cheerleading activity serves as a training ground for life and promotes good mental and physical health by being present to support the children.
- Refraining from being under the influence of, or in possession of alcohol and/or illegal substances on game and practice fields.
- Staying behind the designated spectator line or fence during game and practice.
- Refraining from interfering with or interrupting the coaching staff during games or practices.
- Not criticizing officials or coaches, directly abuse or profane language toward them, undermining their authority.
- Avoiding criticism of the opposing team, its players, coaches, or spectators and refraining from inciting unsportsmanlike behavior.
- Not undermining the authority of the coach or DYFCA in any manner.
